Cochiti Pueblo Governor Regis Pecos on Wednesday said the official designation of the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks as a national monument is great news for the central-New Mexican tribe.

The Pueblo and the Bureau of Land Management jointly manage the park and the BLM says the designation will help them secure money for improvements. Parts of it are considered sacred by the Pueblo.
