Pueblo works on improving water quality

FEBRUARY 19, 2001 Hoping to clean up the waters in the Rio Pueblo, Picuris Pueblo in New Mexico is beginning its own environmental monitoring program. The tribe has received a Clean Water Act grant and has adopted its own water quality standards. It is also replacing its 40-year-old sewer system with a grant from the US Department of Agriculture.
