Environmental advances discussed

At a forum in Reno, Nevada, tribal and environmental leaders on Thursday discussed advances Indian Country has made in environmental issues.

Charles Wilkinson praised tribes for using their political muscle to draw attention to environmental issues that affect more than just their own communities. He cited examples of the Washoe Tribe and others in helping lead the effort to clean up toxic sites.
