Pueblo gets new waste system

APRIL 6, 2001 The new waste water treatment plant at Sandia Pueblo of New Mexico got its first users on Tuesday as 100 homes were hooked up to the system. Soon, the Pueblo's brand new 210,000-square foot casino will be hooked up to the plant, which can treat 400,000 gallons of effluent daily. The old system could handle about 18,000 gallons a day from the casino while effluent from homes was deposited in lagoons. The system cost $12.7 million. Get the Story:
