MAY 2, 2001

The White Earth Band of Ojibwe and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will be meeting to discuss a cooperative natural resource management agreement similar to the one other bands have in the state.

The Legislature in 1980 passed a law to authorize the DNR to negotiate an agreement. Three public meetings will be held to address hunting, fishing and gathering rights on White Earth lands.
