The Bush administration on Tuesday said the President's forthcoming national energy policy will include a push for more power plants, including authorizing the federal government to seize private property to construct electrical power lines.

Bush's policy will be announced next week, the result of three months of meeting headed by Vice President Dick Cheney. Members of the administration have been giving previews of the policy, which will favor production of energy over conservation.

Cheney appeared yesterday on CNN and discussed some of the forthcoming proposals.
