JUNE 19, 2000 An organization called the Red Lake Bison Inc have brought the buffalo back to the Red Lake Ojibwe reservation in Minnesota. The group's six buffalo are just the start of their plans to increase buffalo presence to 200 to 300 in the next three to five years. The group also hopes to integrate buffalo back into Red Lake society, including as a source of food to combat diabetes and cardiovascular problems. Get the Story:
