A US District Court on Thursday fined former Onondaga Nation gas station owner Oliver Hill $4,746,500 for defying an Environmental Protection Agency cleanup order. The fine was the largest ever imposed for violating an EPA cleanup order. Hill refused to clean up a 10,000 gallon leak after he closed the station in 1993.
