JUNE 5, 2000

The US Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, has completed an assessment study for the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut, who are considering constructing a 29-acre marina on the west shore of the Thames River adjacent to the tribe's casino, The Mohegan Sun. The tribe had considered a similar venture on the east shore of the river. The current study began in 1998 and contains an environmental assessment of the proposal as well as suggestions for construction options and costs of projects associated with a potential development.
