Oregon farmers angry the federal government has limited their water supply say they are going to lay an undeground piple to restore the flows.

On Thursday, they started digging a trench in preparation for the pipeline, which will draw water from the Klamath Lake on the Oregon-California border.

The Bureau of Reclamation is denying about 1,400 farmers the water in order to protect endangered and threatened fish. Secretary of Interior Gale Norton has denied a request to form a special committee to consider overturning the decision.
