A pow-wow at the Hungry Valley Indian Colony in Nevada was used on Saturday to protest a proposed kitty litter mine near Reno.

Along with environmentalists, tribal members from Hungry Valley and form Reno-Sparks Indian Colony are fighting the mine because they fear it will damage their health and welfare.

The mine would be located on a 300-acre Bureau of Land Management site.
