Three employees of the Fort Peck Tribes of Montana will be honored by the Environmental Protection Agency for their work in documenting violations of environmental laws.

Bruce Bauer, Shelly Kirn and Sandra Blount-White Eagle worked together to uncover a pumper dumping raw sewage on the reservation. Their efforts were so thorough that the EPA didn't need to conduct additional evidence and is pursuing a case against the pumper.

The trio are being honored by Region 8 of the EPA.

The Fort Peck Reservation is home to the Sioux and Assiniboine tribes.
