Coeur d'Alene Tribe changes burning policy

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho on Thursday announced a change to its burning policies.

Farmers on tribal land will be required to remove straw from their fields before burning them. The move is expected to cut emissions and a study is currently being conducted to determine exactly how much.

Farmers regularly burn their field to gain a better yield the following. The practice is criticized.
