MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 In addition to having a successful casino, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut is also said to be rich in another valuable resource: water. The tribe is sitting on a aquifer that can pump 2.7-million gallons of water a day. The aquifer provides water to reservation residents and the tribe's casino. A wastewater treatment facility feeds the water back into the aquifer. The tribe also provides water to other communities and hopes to expand its services. Get the Story:
