SEPTEMBER 13, 2000 The Fort Peck Reservation Rural Water System Act passed the House on Tuesday, clearing the way for the construction of a $175 million water system on the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana. The system will address health issues in the water supply to the reservation. Sulfate levels in some of the reservation water are four times the standard for safe drinking water iron levels are five times the standard in some parts. The bill passed the Senate last year.
