The field burning practices on the Coeur d'Alene reservation in Idaho have raised the concern of the Environmental Protection Agency and tribal president Ernie Stensgar says they are being shut out by the agency.

The EPA sent a letter warning the tribe and regulators in Idaho about the burns. But Stensgar said the media found out about the letter even before the tribe was notified.

He also said the tribe wasn't invited to a public neeting held on Wednesday in Washington state. But the EPA says the tribe was reminded.
