Tribal land swap a concern

SEPTEMBER 5, 2000 A land swap between the Pueblos of San Felipe and Santo Domingo in New Mexico and the Bureau of Land Management has the Sierra Club wondering if the deal will close off land they consider ripe for recreation. The BLM says access to particular areas won't be a problem because they will secure an easement from Santo Domingo on NM Highway 22. About 18,000 acres of land are to be swapped between the tribes and the BLM. Get the Story:
