FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2001 Congress has passed a $24.6 billion energy and water spending bill that includes $40 million in funding for water and sewer projects in rural areas and Native villages. Nearly 25 percent of homes in rural and Native Alaska lack adequate plumbing facilities, according to the state. Poor santitation can cause series health problems. Get the Story:
