Avalanche could have been prevented

A New Year's Eve avalanche in the Inuit community of Kangiqsualujjuaq could have been avoided, says a coroner. He said Quebec provincial authorities knew of a 1993 snowslide and that should have been enough warning. Since the avalanche, Kangiqsualujjuaq has received $29 million of community improvements.

Nine people, including five children, were killed in the accident.
