Metis Nation President Todd Russell rejected outside criticsm of a food fishery agreement the Metis made with Ottawa. He said the Metis don't need the approval of John Crosbie, former fisheries minister.

BRITISH COLUMBIA:
The Cheam First Nation is threatening to escalate its road blockade to protest slow-moving treaty negotiations with the province. Sto:lo leaders were refused admission at a media briefing on the Cheam Land dispute today. The Nisga'a Nation's treaty with BC was proclaimed into law last week, after a long battle.
