MAY 9, 2000 The Huron Wendat Nation in Quebec will finally receive payment for land illegaly sold by the federal government 95 years ago. The Huron will receive $12 million in an agreement signed by Federal Indian Affairs Minister Robert Nault and the grand Chief of the Huron Wendat Nation on Monday. Tribal leaders had been in negotiations with the government for the past nine years over land near Quebec City, Quebec. Get the Story:
