Mohawk leaders oppose Oka mine

Mohawk leaders in Quebec are calling for a hearing on a proposed mine they say is located on aboriginal territory near Oka.

The Commission for the Protection of Agricultural Lands has already approved the niobium mine. Along with local residents, the Mohawks are concerned about potential impacts the mine will have on the environment and want the decision reversed.
