The Kwanlin Dun First Nation of Yukon is seeking at least $60 million to offset costs associated with a proposed natural gas pipeline that would run through traditional Yukon territory.

The route for the pipeline has not been finalized but band chief Rick O'Brien wants to be involved in the discussions. He wants money for all six First Nations in Yukon.

Under one scenario, the pipeline would run through land owned by the Yukon Territory First Nation Gas companies are also considering a route through the Beaufort Sea off the North Slope of Alaska.
