The following documents of note were published in today's Federal Register.

National Indian Gaming Commission
The Department of Interior announces the names of the associate commissioners of the National Indian Gaming Commission.

The nominees are:

  • Cloyce V. Choney - former FBI Agent, member of Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, goes by Chuck. Used to work for private firm called Indian Territory Investigations. 

  • Nelson W. Westrin, served as the first executive director of Michigan Gaming Control Board, an appointee of Gov. Engler, 1996-present; Michigan Racing Commissioner, 1993-1997; Michigan Assistant Attorney General, 1977-1993, assigned to lottery and racing division from 1984-1993.

    Westrin is not Indian.

    The public may comment on the commissioners. The comment period closes October 4.
