Sex offender website causes headaches

FEBRUARY 21, 2001 An Albuquerque Journal review of the state of New Mexico's sex offender website revealed that information on those listed if often out of date and incorrect, leading to awkward situations for some. At least 40 percent of 50 randomly chosen offenders had incorrect mailing addresses. Some offenders listed non-existent addresses while others had multiple ones. The state says it is working to fix any and all problems with the site. A number of Native Americans who live on reservations are listed but the Journal did not state if it verified their information. Get the Story:
