Report: Inadequate care for Indian women

MAY 31, 2001 The Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support released a report on Wednesday stating that more than half of American Indian women received inadequate prenatal care. Of all ethnic and racial minorities in Minnesota, Indian women at 55 percent had the highest rate of inadequate care, closely followed by Asian-American women. (54 percent). Researchers said the high rates can be attributed to low income and language and cultural differences. Get the Story:
