Indian health conference postponed

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2001 The National Indian Health Board has decided to postpone its annual consumer conference in light of last week's terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. "The entire nation is in mourning. It is a time when we need to remain close to our friends and family," said chairwoman H. Sally Smith in a statement. "Additionally, we want to keep in mind any travel restrictions that could potentially make it difficult for everyone to arrive in Denver in a safe and timely manner." The meeting had been set to begin tomorrow. It has instead been rescheduled for March 26-28 in Denver, Colorado. The theme of the conference is "Facing the Challenge - Fostering Tribal, State, and Federal Relations to Improve American Indian and Alaska Native Health Care." Relevant Links:
