Campbell stamping out domestic violence

A spending bill approved by Congress recently authorizes the creation of a commemorative postal stamp whose proceeds will be used to fund domestic violence programs, reports The Denver Post's Beltway Notebook.

Sen. Ben Nigthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) had a key role in pushing the stamp through, having first tried through an act he introduced last year called the Stamp Out Domestic Violence Stamp Act. Although that bill saw no action, he was able to get his initiative passed with the help of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

Domestic violence affects Native women at higher rates than other women in the country.
