Is it Friday already? That means it's time for the weekly list of the movers and shakers in Indian Country and beyond.

The Winners
National Congress of American Indians - Another year, another conference. But could we please keep better track of the time? The only thing on schedule was lunch.

Cobell Legal Team - You got some of money owed to you for fighting the feds. But if they have to be forced, tooth and nail, to pay you, what about individual Indians?

Quinault Nation - Congratulations on your recent victory in court. We just hope the county doesn't seek Supreme Court review.

Northern Arapaho Tribe - Finally, a gaming compact! The courts are friendly sometimes.

The Losers
Ex-Crow Chairman Bird in Ground and Brother - You pleaded guilty but charges against your alleged co-conspirator were thrown out of court. Oops. We'd fire your legal counsel if we were you.

Anti-Cobell Tribal Leaders and Lawyers - You know who you are. But when you actually win a case of your own, let us know.

Ben Nighthorse Campbell - So the trust fund lawyers are making millions. This must be why you are supporting a bill to extinguish millions of dollars in claims to individual Indians.

John Herrington - Sorry about the delay in the shuttle launch. Maybe you can use the opportunity to apply to take Outer Space into Trust for the Chickasaw Nation. MegaNanzas as far as the eye can see!

In The Middle
Indian Trust - Everyone was talking about you this week at NCAI but no one knows what to do with you. Expect more until Judge Lamberth, the only person who has enforced change, acts.

Last Oklahoma Allottees - Savor it while it lasts and make sure your children do the same, because the way the Bush administration is going, you may truly be the last.

Joe Shirley - So let's get this straight: three branches of government are not better than the one that you are going to be running? You were elected president, not king!

Oklahoma Tribes - You've got Brad Henry as Governor but Wayne Pettigrew trying to undermine you. Expect everything to cancel out and you get nothing.
