Mexico admits role in disappearances

Saying no one would be immune from prosecution, Mexican President Vicente Fox and top officials on Tuesday accepted a report that shows a level of government involvement in disappearances, kidnappings and executions during the 1970s and 1980s.

The 3,000-page report was prepared by the National Human Rights Commission. It links the now-disbanded Federal Security Department to most of the leftist victims but provided no solid proof the agency was involved in deaths.

Despite Fox's claims of justice, some are doubting the report and say they won't be satisfied until past or present government officials are charged and punished.
