WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2001 U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth's harsh words for Secretary of Interior Gale Norton's defense team is the story of the day, reported by The Washington Post, The Denver Post and the Associated Press. Lamberth all but held Norton in contempt for actions he said violated his court orders. He also questioned why the Clinton administration did not tell him a $40 million computer system was a failure when top officials knew so before his landmark December 1999 ruling. Get the Story:
