MARCH 23, 2001 Connecticut State Senator Alvin Penn said he will continue to fight for the creation of an Office of State-Tribal Relations within the Governor's office even though a legislative committee killed his proposal 11-11 on Thursday. Penn said the office is needed so the state can have experts in tribal sovereignty, gaming, federal recogniton and other issues. He said some tribes support it.
