Report: Girls being arrested more

MAY 1, 2001 A study released on Monday by the American Bar Association says that girls under the age of 18 are the fastest growing segement of the juvenile justice population. Based on trends in arrest, detention, and custody data, the ABA says there is an increase of girls in the justice system. In 1999, 27 percent of arrests were to girls under 18. Get the Story:
