JUNE 1, 2001 The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation will meet with three of its biggest foes on June 18, freshman Congressman and mediator Rob Simmons (R-Conn.) said on Thursday. The focus of the talks is a dispute over land-into-trust. The three towns of Ledyard, North Stoningotn and Preston oppose any attempts by the tribe to expand the reservation, although the court system so far has sided with the Department of Interior and the tribe.
