JUNE 15, 2001 The director of the Tribal Employment Rights Office of the White Earth Ojibwe Band has been indicted on charges he embezzled more than $70,000 from the Minnesota tribe's casino. Roderick HighElk is alleged to have taken money from the Shooting Star Casino and deposited into a personal account. He allegedly withdrew $70,200 from the account between May 1999 and July 2000.
