Tribe accepts $53.5M

The Red Lake Ojibwe have agreed to accept a $53.5 million settlement from the US government over its long standing forestry management dispute with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The settlement must be approved by the Department of Justice.

According to the tribe, the BIA's mismanagement cost the tribe $400 million.
