JUNE 25, 2001

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe has just graduated the first six members of its new Police Explorers program.

The program is designed to give teens and young adults, ages 14-21, exposure to law enforcement. It was started last year by a tribal police officer with no funding but once it started having successes, the tribe pitched in.

There are now 25 explorers in the program.
