President Bush's two picks for the federal court in Montana await their official swearing-in now that they have been confirmed by the Senate.

Montana's Senators are eager to have Sam Haddon and Richard Cebull begin hearing cases since the state has a backlog. Also, US District Judge Jack Shanstrom is on senior status for health reasons, so he will be handling less cases.

Haddon will be assigned to the federal court in Great Falls. Cebull will preside in Billings. They could start hearing cases starting next month.

Haddon and Cebull were unanimously confirmed by the Senate last week, the first of three of Bush's picks to be approved.
