THURSDAY, JULY 26, 2001 Three residents of the To'hajiilee Navajo Reservation in New Mexico will be charged with first-degree murder for their involvement in the deaths of two during a robbery spree this week. Merle Ramone, 27, and Lyle Apachito and Dion Secatero, both 18, are accused of two robberies which resulted in the deaths of two individuals. Ramone reportedly admitted to police he shot the two individuals. Apachito and Secatero are the alleged accomplices. The three were apprehended on the reservation. Ramone was taken by police while the other two voluntarily turned themselves into Navajo Nation authorities. The alleged crime, however, did not occur on tribal land. All three are tribal members.
