The Bureau of Indian Affairs released its agenda for the upcoming two-day soiree to discuss the pending federal recognition of the Eastern Pequot and Paucatuck Eastern Pequot tribes of Connecitcut.

The meeting, which was formally requested by Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal will focus only on aspects of the two tribes petitions, not general federal recognition concerns raised by the state and the towns of Ledyard, North Stonington, and Preston.

The BIA said it will not repeat information already found in public documents.

The meeting will be held August 8-9 at 9:00 AM in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution on D Street in Washington, DC. It is a public meeting.
