Little revealed on death of Navajo teen

FRIDAY, JULY 27, 2001 Authorities in Colorado aren't releasing any details of an autopsy conducted on a gay, transgendered Navajo teen who was found dead last month in what his mother and others are calling a hate crime. The autopsy, however, did not help authorities come to a definite conclusion on how Fred Martinez Jr., 16, died. He was found June 21 and showed signs of head trauma, cuts on his abdomen and other injuries. Police arrested an 18-year-old New Mexican man on suspicion for the death. He is alleged to have bragged about beating a gay person. Get the Story:
