Former tribal employee pleads to theft

TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2001

A former employee of the White Earth Ojibwe Tribe of Minnesota has pleaded guilty to embezzling $70,200.

Roderick Bernard HighElk, 57, admitted to the theft. He could receive up to five years in prison and fines and is expected to be sentenced within the next several weeks.
