Former tribal employee pleads to theft

TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2001 A former employee of the White Earth Ojibwe Tribe of Minnesota has pleaded guilty to embezzling $70,200. Roderick Bernard HighElk, 57, admitted to the theft. He could receive up to five years in prison and fines and is expected to be sentenced within the next several weeks. Get the Story:
