TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2001 In an editorial today, The Seattle Times calls on the Bush administration to pay American Indians for historical mismanagement of their trust funds. "Every penny owed ought to be paid with contrition and humility," writes the paper in the wake of a Department of Treasury internal report which detailed little punishment for attorneys involved in the coverup of 162 boxes of trust fund records.
