THURSDAY, AUGUST 2, 2001 The Miami Nation of Indiana has asked a federal appeals court to review it decision to deny the tribe federal recognition. The tribe filed a petition for a rehearing by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. The court in June said the tribe had been dissolved of its tribal nature and no longer qualified as a federally recognized tribe. Get the Story:
