AUGUST 24, 2000

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld an appelate court ruling that would force an anonymous sperm donor to testify in a lawsuit filed by parents of a child conceived from a sperm bank.

The parents attest in their lawsuit that the sperm bank is at fault for allowing a sperm donor to donate when they knew about his family's history of kidney disease. The court ruled the sperm donor, known as Donor 276, has to testify in court.
