Judge orders Wen Ho Lee release

AUGUST 25, 2000 US District Judge James Parker in New Mexico has ordered Wen Ho Lee to be released on $1 million bail, reversing his earlier decision on the imprisioned Taiwanese-born man suspected of stealing secrets from the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Held without bail ever since his arrest in December, some believe Lee has been the target of racial profiling by the government because he is Asian. He is charged with 59 felony counts, but not espionage. Lee could go free as early as Tuesday. Relevant Links:
