AUGUST 29, 2000

Campaign workers for Ralph Nader and Winona LaDuke testified in US District Court in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Monday, saying police and government workers harrassed and prevented them gathering signatures to place the Green Party candidates on the state ballot.

Robert Leinau, a social studies teacher at A Oklahoma City private school, said police threatened him with a night in jail while he was collecting signatures at the Red Earth arts and culture festival in June.

Judge David Russell will issue a ruling on the Green Party's presence in the state soon.
