The Bureau of Indian Affairs denied a request by the Schaghticoke Tribal Hation to consider their federal recognition petition at the same time as the Golden Hill Paugusett Tribe, on which a decision is expected shortly.

The BIA said there was no close common bloodline between the two tribes to consider the request.
