SEPTEMBER 27, 2000

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation wants to expand its reservation with the addition of a 1,200 acre property known as Lake of Isles, but will wait on the issue until their current dispute over 165 acres is settled.

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday ruled that the Department of Interior could continue to take land into trust for the tribe. A district court had earlier ruled against the Interior, who then appealed the case.
