Native man enters plea for stabbings

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2001 An Alaska Native man who attacked four children at a school in Anchorage pleaded no contest to two counts of attempted murder on Thursday. Originally, Jason Pritchard was charged with four counts of attempted murder and four counts of first-degree assault. A plea agreement worked out reduced the charges but carries no sentencing recommendation. Pritchard could be sentenced anywhere from 5 to 99 years. He has a history of mental illness. Get the Story:
